What are the OCA Regional Groups?
The OCA Regional Groups are here to encourage and promote open canoeing activity on a smaller scale, acting as a focal point for local paddlers to network, share ideas, get to know what paddling opportunities exist within a relatively short travel distance of where they live and to get out on the water together in small groups. Trips are often arranged at short notice in response to conditions or availability.
The boundaries between regions are totally blurred, their purpose being defined more by a desire to paddle in an area than by living there.
Each Regional group is looked after by a small number of volunteers. The groups are run mostly on Facebook with events booked and managed through webcollect.

How does this fit into the OCA
The OCA is a national organisation which is supported by this network of regional groups. Membership of the OCA allows you access to any number of the regional groups. However, joining a regional group via Facebook without OCA Membership does not entitle you to the full benefits of a paid-up member.

What are the regions
- OCA South West: Cornwall Devon Somerset Dorset, Wiltshire
- OCA South East: Kent, Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire, London (South of Thames)
- OCA East: Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Cambridgeshire
- OCA Central Region: London (north of the Thames), Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire
- OCA East Midlands: Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Northamptonshire, Rutland, Leicestershire
- OCA West Midlands: Staffordshire, Shropshire, Birmingham, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire, Herefordshire
- OCA Yorkshire and North East: Yorkshire, Durham, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear
- OCA Northwest: Cheshire, Merseyside, Greater Manchester, Lancashire
- OCA Cumbria: Cumbria
- OCA Scotland: Scotland
