Background

For Canoefest to run smoothly we need to feed our volunteers: all the leaders, teachers and key organisers who make the event happen. We need to make it easy and possible for folk to rock up and be ready to teach and to lead, sometimes bouncing from session to session non-stop. We don’t want them to be worrying about the washing up or not finding time to eat

We also want to offer scrummy food to our guests. Some folk like camp-cooking. But having all you need in a small car and tent alongside all your canoeing paraphernalia is hard. Catering for people can make the event less stressful, more fun and bring a  big community feel .

The work

The Canoefest team have been reaching out and talking to  local caterers for months. This year, finding the right business to help us has been a slog. You might imagine that with the costs of energy and goods rising, finding something in the right price range is hard. This is so; but this year, finding a business that can commit to a set of menus and prices before the event has proved far far harder than we expected. This hard work has borne fruit!

The result

We have what looks like a super scrummy at a price around the same price as last year!

The Llama Farmers are a Welsh/Bolivian farming family based in North Wales who have worked the local hills for 6 generations. They will be providing both meat and vegetarian food with a Bolivian twist.

Of course we are offering this at cost to our members at the event.  Take a look at our menu and book in your food choices!
