After a three-year absence, the OCA’s flagship event Canoefest, returns in 2022 as a four day open water festival.
2nd – 5th June
Cleavel Point, Isle of Purbeck, Dorset
Set on the shores of the scenic Poole Harbour, with easy sea access, this year’s event promises to be the best one yet!
Paddle in the second largest natural harbour in the world
Poole Harbour is the second largest natural harbour in the world, offering diverse wildlife and a magnificent archipelago.
The harbour is also the gateway to the spectacular Jurassic Coast stretching from Studland Bay past Old Harry Rocks, towards Swanage and along the coast to Lulworth Cove and Ringstead Bay.
Our first time as a four day event
The event is being held over the four day Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Weekend from Thursday 2nd to Sunday 5th June. Camping is at the idyllic Cleavel Point Camp Site on the Rempstone Estate in the heart of the Purbeck Hills.
The site gives us direct access to Poole Harbour and uninterrupted views across to Brownsea Island. Few groups are permitted to camp on this site, so an opportunity not to be missed.
A huge activity programme
We have a full programme of skills workshops and guided trips. Trips include exploring the harbour islands and visits to the Arne Nature Reserve, Studland Bay, Old Harry Rocks and further towards the Jurassic coast, if conditions allow.
Skills workshops will cover open water tandem and solo paddling, canoe sailing, leadership styles and skills, freestyle canoeing, open water navigation and much more.
We also have a night sky photography walk, bushcraft and camp cooking demonstrations, open water SUP skills, sea kayak taster sessions, and outrigger demonstrations. There will also be an opportunity to form a team and enter our Voyager Canoe Tournament!

Relax and revive at the ‘Paddlers Pint’
Join us on Saturday night for a ceilidh followed by a performance by local band Celtic Confusion. The Paddlers Pint Bar will be open each night, selling a range of local ales, ciders and wine at low prices in our specially designed OCA beakers.
On site catering
Food can be ordered in advance, or you can cater for yourself. The menu includes a tasty 2 course evening meal on Thursday and Friday evening and a BBQ on Saturday. Breakfast can also be ordered at the time of booking.
If you decide at a later date that you would like to order food, this can be done up until a week before the event. We are also hoping to have an ice-cream bike for when you get off the water, serving delicious local ice cream!

Plenty for everyone
The team are looking forward to seeing you all in June and sharing with you this magical location for what promises to be the best Canoefest ever. We’ve got it all planned, we just need you!
So come and join us, a limited number of tickets will go on sale on the 8th December. This Early Bird offer is only available until the end of January so be quick and don’t miss out!
