Canoefest and OCA Events and Coronavirus
You are probably not surprised that, along with almost all other events taking place over the next few months that we have had to make the inevitable decision to postpone Canoefest

The decision in the end has not been a difficult one to make as we must follow guidelines and do our best to keep everyone as healthy as possible. We will investigate alternative methods of holding the AGM. This may involve a mass video conference but more details later.

We have committed some funds to pay for the venue and deposits on the infrastructure so are planning for Canoefest to take place over the weekend of 25th – 27th September. We will monitor this in the coming months and confirm details in due course. we would hope to offer paddling on the Friday for those that can get there early as well as full programmes for the Saturday and Sunday.

We have also cancelled or postponed all other events planned and will not be offering any other organised events until we receive guidance that it will be safe to do so.

Encouraging members to get outside and enjoy the beautiful world in which we live is really important to us. Whether that is on the water, foot, bike or horseback, it must still be part of our lives for our own health and well-being. We would like to encourage everyone to do so by following Government guidelines and making your own informed decisions.

I hope we will all be able to meet up on the water soon. In the meantime, please stay safe and healthy.
