We have again managed to secure a site on the Biblins youth camp river Wye. It's not only for youth it's also for the young at heart, all are welcome! We are looking to encourage the “youngsters” to go out and about and hope the parents let them! For those who are interested in these activities and want some encouragement are welcome to come and learn with us. If you have something to offer please come along. Please remember there are still restrictions as it is a youth campsite!(Alcohol and drugs, safeguarding rules and regulations!)

October half term holiday ideal for the family to enjoy the last days of sun in stunning scenery. Young (under 18) are more than welcome and would be looked after by us if unaccompanied.(the core team are DBS cleared and have Child protection/welfare courses and are also “working”/volunteering in the scout environment)

What are we doing? Four days out and about, walking, paddling the river and playing on the Symons Yat rapid, camp skills, bushcraft and tracking skills explained by Ian Perkins. We also do a certificated Leave no trace course and first aid (please register in advanced your interest!).

British Canoeing star tests up to 3* canoe or kayak (please register in advanced your interest!), Duck of Edinburg training and assessment, target games or just relax by the campfire. If there is something you want us to arrange, please let us now in time for us to look at it.

Adult Thursday - Sunday £70.- per person. Day price 22.50 per person.

Children under 18 or students  Thursday - Sunday £30.- per person. Day price £10,- per person.

We are keeping the basic cost to a bear minimum so most people can attend. That can mean that for some workshops or making’s an extra charge (cost price) will be asked at the event. We Will try to communicate this on this event page on Facebook and OCA website. All volunteers or helpers are not payed! With a bit off luck they can have miles… If for any reason attendance is made difficult by personal circumstances please contact the OCA welfare officers or team to discus options.

There is a possibility for a full catered option, we will cook on a fire for the coaches/leaders and can cater  for up to +/-25 people, at an additional cost of £10.- per person per day, £40.- per person whole camp. Breakfast, lunch and dinner, coffee, tea and squash. We would ask that people taking up this offer help with preparation and cleaning and bring your own plate, bowl, cup and cutely. The meals will be simple Like sausage casserole, chilli etc. If you have questions or diet requirements please contact us before booking.

Please make sure you book your place, register interest in specific things such as LNT, star test, DofE  and food before the 21th of October. After this date we may not be able to cater for your needs! The core team set up camp on Wednesday and as there is no mobile reception on site, communication and emails will almost not possible!

Bring your own (paddling) equipment and camping gear, including buoyancy aids and helmets. Boats need to be fitted with proper buoyancy.

Camp fires are allowed only in altar fires, raised from the ground for individual cooking.

Dogs allowed. Camping only…. But small camper-vans allowed on the hard surface, no awnings.
