West Wales Grade 2 Rivers, Easter Bank Holiday Weekend
The 4-day weekend open canoe trips aim to explore some of the grade 2 West Wales rivers on the western side of the Cambrian Mountains which flow into Cardigan Bay. The exact rivers will depend on the water levels in the various rivers. Should there not be enough water in the rivers to make river trips a viable option, the tides are suitable for some of the classic open water journeys on salt water.
For safety/supervision purposes, I am limited to a leader to participant ratio of 1:4 people so places will fill on a first come, first served basis for those already possessing appropriate grade 2 WW and open water skills. The weekend is open to SCC, WCC and OCA members. Please note that this is a lead and not a coached trip so you will need to have the appropriate grade 2 and open water skills and equipment. If other coaches/leaders join me, I can allow additional participants to join the trip. For safety/supervision purposes, please consider yourself as only having a tentative place when responding until I have confirmed that you have a definite place.
I now have another 4 star leader who is in the process of gaining her Moderate Water Endorsement coaching qualification on the West Wales grade 2 rivers weekend, who is building her coaching logbook hours. Although I’m looking predominantly at leading competent 3 star level paddlers, there is also an opportunity to gain some moderate white water coaching on grade 2 water during the weekend. If you want coaching, please advise when booking.
If you want to participate in the Open Canoe West Wales, Easter Bank Holiday Weekend, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please do not click going/attending and then assume that you have a place.
