We are planning a weekend trip on the River Severn 14/16 June. We will be camping at Irongorge Camping, just about a mile from Ironbridge.
This is a peer paddle with no coaching or training, more of a social weekend paddling the beautiful River Severn.
The site we are using is small and so numbers are limited. You can find campsite details at irongorgecamping.co.uk where there are excellent directions that are more reliable and better to use than SatNav
We will meet Friday evening and decide on where to paddle depending on numbers and weather conditions. The usual trips are Ironbridge to Bridgnorth on the Saturday about 9 miles and Bridgnorth to Bewdley (14miles) or Arley on Sunday (10). We can vary the start and end of the paddles for example we may start from Attcham and go to Ironbridge or on Sunday start at Hampton Loade and go to Bewdley.
The campsite is a STRICTLY TENTS ONLY. The owners supply fire baskets for you to use if you wish and logs and kindling can be bought from the site.
The cost covers campsite fees only at £18 pp for the weekend (Fri & Sat nights) You will need to pay any other costs at the time. (Parking for shuttles etc.)
The site also have pods for hire which you can find on the website. If you would like one of these please book direct with the campsite owners.
The aim of the weekend is to have fun and enjoy the beautiful scenery and company of other canoeists with a touch of excitement at Jackfield Rapids.
As usual buoyancy aids are compulsory and you may feel it wise to take helmets for Jackfield Rapids.
