Paddling for the Petrified! 8th - 10th March 2019

Hosted by Alison Green, a weekend on The River Dart for those of a nervous disposition. The focus is on confidence building and developing skills in an inclusive environment.

If you want a white knuckle adrenalin filled weekend doing the Dart loop then this is NOT for you!

Based out of bunkhouse accommodation close to the River Dart, this is a self catering weekend with a fish and chip supper included in the price on the Saturday evening.. You will need to arrange your own breakfast and a packed lunch on both days.

Suitable for people who were too apprehensive to go on the 'Dart weekends' in case it was really scary.

Suitable for people who have done some moving water but have had their confidence knocked - perhaps by an incident or bad swim.

Suitable for tandem paddlers who want to develop solo skills.

Suitable for new tandem partners who want to have a go at something more than flat water. Could be suitable for tandems with one experienced paddler and one nervous.

The sections paddled will depend on the skill and confidence levels of participants. We anticipate 3-5 groups of varying levels of ability.

Price to include full coaching, bunkhouse style accommodation and Saturday evening fish and chips is £65

Once you have booked a place, we will send you a profile form where you can share (in confidence) your current levels of moving water ability and experience in order that we can tailor the weekend to your specific aims and objectives.

Can I attend

Kirston Elton's picture

Hi,I've had the invite and would like to come along as a Tandem, but I don't count in the bracket as nervous of having a bad swim, I more settle firmly in the catagory of "working up to white water in an open canoe and just leaving concious-incompetence level". Am I/we OK to attend given we don't quite fit into the target audience?! I just don't want to take a place from someone who does fit into the petrified catagory and would like to attend.

The weekend is about development, whatever the level, and overcoming barriers and anxieties. Everyone will have different challenges so you are more than welcome. Enjoy!
