Mid Wales Whitewater Weekend

Weekend including Hostel accommodation, breakfasts and Saturday evening meal £88.00
Day Tickets £22 per day
Staying at YHA Llwyn-y-Celyn we will be paddling the Usk and Wye. This event is a White Water Weekend in the Brecon area of Wales. The paddling opportunities include the Rivers Usk, Wye and Towy. The sections of rivers we use range from grade 2 to grade 3. What we do will depend on water levels, individual experience and weather conditions.

This is your weekend and for you to get as much or as little out of it as you want. The river trips will be guided and led by a BCU level 3 coach or 4 star river leader. If you are looking to be coached or gain any specific skills please let me know in advance so I can ensure we can meet the demand.
Info about the rivers can be found on the WCA site here http://www.canoewales.com/paddling-in-wales-rivers.aspx

We will have specific instruction for those wanting to tandem paddle. If you're an experienced solo paddler you might want to team up with a friend and have a go two up!

This weekend is aimed at those who already have some moving water experience. It is also an ideal opportunity for aspirant 4 star leaders to gain some valuable experience acting as an assistant to one of the coaches/leaders.
• The cost of the weekend includes breakfast for Saturday and Sunday and an evening meal for Saturday.
• If you are a vegetarian or have any special dietary requirements please let me know in advance so we can forewarn the hostel
• You will need to bring food for your packed lunches. The YHA can provide a packed lunch at extra cost but these will need to be booked in advance. I will bring communal milk, tea and coffee.
• The YHA is licensed for the sale of alcohol which means that you cannot drink your own on the premises.

Mid Wales weekend

Really interested in this, but only just starting out in open canoe white water from flatwater. I have good flatwater skills and have done Symmonds Yat and some basic moving water in an open canoe before. I am getting coached on moving/white water in open canoe. Would you be able to accomodate me on this weekend? Also, another person who has only recenlty passed their 2 Star - I presume that there is no ability too be able to accomodate this person with basic open canoe skills on this weekend as a beginner?
